My name is Aileen, I am the designer and owner of Plume Calligraphy. I specialize in modern, romantic wedding invitations and stationery.
How did this particular design come to be?
This particular design was for a custom wedding invitation for a couple this past summer. The brief was for a light and airy suite, with both warm and cool tones.
[Aileen used our colours Slate Blue, Earth and Wheat.]
What was the mood you wanted to evoke?
Light, airy. Modern, yet soft.
Why did you choose these particular colours and colour combinations? What did you want to express with that?
These colours were inspired by the couple and the feeling they wanted to create for their wedding.
Why did you choose these particular formats and combination of formats? Which effect did you want to achieve?
The combination of naturally deckled edged handmade paper contrasted with vellum with white ink florals added to the modern, yet soft feeling of the suite. 
Are there any particular style elements that you want to talk about? Things that are typical for your designs? Or also: totally unusual in your designs?
This particular suite featured modern fonts and white space, paired with handmade paper for a modern, organic look.
